The media portrays women as being glamorous and this has become a trend amongst most influencers. The 2016 Girls’ Attitudes Survey discovered that girls as young as seven face “intense and unobtainable appearance pressures to be perfect” and that “35% women felt that they were judged more on their appearance than their abilities. Failure for a woman to engage in “being pretty” (i.e. applying makeup, wearing tasteful clothes and heels), is often portrayed as something bad, being poor or viewed with an uncertain scope. Arlette Jones wants to peel back the layers on these issues to truly examine the reasons why these stigmas exist. Many women want to live normal lives free from conforming to the pressures of social beauty ideals.

Arlette Jones has been in the entertainment industry since she was a teen growing up in Northern Ohio. There, she trained and performed at the Magical Theater Company. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has trained at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade, and the Actors Studio of Orange.
